... THE ARTIST ...

TB-303 and vintage modular synthesizers are an integral part of Jaquarius's musical universe. From his first DJ sets at underground parties to his recent live performances, Jaquarius doesn't just follow simple ephemeral impulses. After four years of electroacoustic studies at the Conservatoire de Paris, and the progressive acquisition of a range of machines and synthesizers of all kinds, he constantly seeks to break free from technical barriers, thus maintaining a permanent [r]evolution in his artistic creation.

Forging a marginal acid techno, he surprises his audience by signing with renowned labels such as Acid Avengers, Mindcolormusic, Zodiak Commune Records, and Narcosis.

Driven by a thirst for experimentation and freedom, he strives to push the limits of the consensual. Fascinated by the English scene, intelligent dance music, braindance, and the lysergic acid of Den Haag and the Midwest. He invites us to wander in an electronic world where synthesizers create space and drum machines set the tempo.

... “ACID ET DECOUVERTE” PROJECT ...

A musical dialogue between the artist and the landscape

A musical dialogue between the artist and the landscape

Traveling the roads of Béarn/France in a converted van like a Nat-Geo reporter, he explores places that inspire his compositions. This discovery is both visual and auditory; the fauna and flora, the different spaces, the sound of water, history, and culture are incredible riches that constitute the intangible heritage of the Béarn territory.

To create such an "out of the box" album, it was necessary to rethink the sound studio and make it portable, having enough rhythmic and melodic elements to be able to improvise complete tracks in different styles without feeling limited.

Finding how to record both the sound produced by the machines and the surrounding ambient sounds to enable "field recording" with the idea of strengthening the cohesion between electronic music and nature. The use of the Roland TB-303, which produces "acid" sounds, will give homogeneity to the project. Released in 1981, this battery-powered synthesizer was designed to be usable outside music studios.

Once the sounds and images are recorded, Jaquarius leaves without a trace of his passage, sometimes having captured moments of grace such as sunset or morning mist.

... MEDIATION ...

As part of this project, Jaquarius leads interactive & immersive workshops for students, introducing them to the Analog synthesizer. An immersion into the creation process, it allows participants to observe creation for themselves, then create their own Audio Landscape using analog synthesizers. These workshops can be adapted for all audiences, from discovery workshops for kids to adults.

... CROSS MEDIA EXHIBITION ...

We are looking for partners to set up an exhibition where the creative process will be shown through different mediums (sound, Still Images, videos, artifacts). The main goal is to support the next generation of digital and transdisciplinary creation, to build connections between landscape heritage and modern creation and finally introduce an original and unique artistic form to inhabited territory.

Jaquarius propose is an entry point into creation and landscape heritage.
